Sushma was a studious girl with good grades in school. She had a very hard time convincing her parents to allow her higher education. However, she shared her ordeal with a school teacher who helped her in Polytechnic Exam (Electronics and Communications Engineering). She not only passed the exam but also got the scholarship. This helped her to successfully complete her graduation without becoming a burden on her family.
After the completion of diploma, she got placed in a company but due to family disagreement, she had to come back to her village. But she didn’t give up and tried for competitive exam, unfortunately she could not clear it because of the household responsibilities.
She came in contact to a DEF Center supervisor one day and decided to engage with the Goal Samarth Program. During the mentorship sessions by Ms Sneha, she learned basic life and moral skills. She learned how to be self-reliant, independent, and help others too.
